Andy Harper obtained a BA in Painting from Brighton Polytechnic and a MA from the Royal College of Art in 1995. In 1996, with the artists Ori Gersht and Robert Davies, he co-founded NotCut, a studio complex in South London housing 12 artists. In 2003 Harper became a committee member of the annual Braziers International Artists’ Workshop in Oxfordshire. With the artist Abigail Reynolds, Harper runs an Artists' Forum in London which organizes events and artist residencies in St Just, Cornwall. Harper teaches at Goldsmiths College. From 2001 to 2002 he was the artist in residence at ECAV (Ecole Cantonale d'Art du Valais) in Sierre, Switzerland. Harper has shown widely in London and elsewhere in the UK, as well as abroad.
