    Jeremy Deller was born in London. He studied art history at the Courtauld Institute of Art before completing an MA at the University of Sussex. Solo projects include 'After The Goldrush', a guidebook and treasure hunt around California, commissioned by the Wattis Institute, San Francisco (2002); and 'This is US', a CD produced with the Centre for Curatorial Studies (2003). 'Folk Archive', a collaborative project with Alan Kane, was exhibited in Tate Britain’s touring exhibition 'Intelligence. Folk Archive: Contemporary Popular Art From The UK' (2000). Deller won the Turner Prize in 2007; and in 2013, represented Britain at the Venice Biennale with 'English Magic', a show that toured the UK in 2014. Recent projects include '24-Hour-Rockshow' at the Old Student House, Helsinki (2015); and 'Iggy Pop Life Class', a drawing class with the acclaimed American rock artist as model at the New York Academy of Art in early 2016, the results of which were exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum that autumn.
