The distinctive curl across the forehead of former Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli, Earl of Beaconsfield on lithograph is seen in numerous portraits of the former British Prime Minister. His brow is furrowed, as though deep in thought.
This lithograph was engraved after a photograph by Jabez Hughes taken on 22 July 1878 which is now in the Hughenen Manor, Buckinghamshire (National Trust). In the original photograph, Disraeli is shown seated by a table. This photograph was taken ‘at Osborne by Command of H M the Queen’.
